Portrait Painting Procedure
When you become a client, we will work together on what is to be
achieved
in your portrait. What direction, pose and where it will finally
hang, all have a
bearing on the final painting. Once we agree on the
type of painting, I then take
several photographs of various poses and
expressions along with sketches and
color notes. This usually only
requires two hours of your time. In the following meeting, we will go over a more detailed drawing,
a selection of recommended photographs and a small painting for
correct color. This requires about one hour. After your approval of the composition and the small painting, I begin
work
on the final Painting. It is not necessary for you to be in my studio
for
this step. This can take anywhere from three to six weeks depending
on the complexity
of the painting. You will be kept informed on the
progress of
the final painting.
I understand that
your time is important. You will not have long settings,
or spend any time
that is not necessary to create a great portrait painting.
